Trees For Portage, Inc - “TREES” invites you to become a TWIG!

“TREES” is starting a program for grade school age students who are interested in planting, learning about and taking care of trees in their neighborhoods.

What do TWIGs do?
TWIGs can participate in two formal activities organized by “Trees” each year that engage children in being care takers of the trees in Portage. Each year, fun projects will be organized to help TWIGs care for our city forest.

Kids are excellent learners and care takers of the things around them that are important. TWIGs will help them learn about the environment and take an active part in nurturing its health. The TWIGs group will develop a partnership between trees and children.

How do I sign up? Is there any fee?
It costs $5 for a student to be a 5 year member in TWIGs. Children will receive a membership card and be contacted for activities at least two times per year. Donations will be used to promote a healthy urban forest in Portage. Family memberships are also available.

For more information, please contact chairperson Anne Klein at (608) 697-0605.
